go retro... age of empires 2 was the best rts ever made and starwars galactic battlegrounds ( an aoe2 mod thingy) was even better. Rise of nations is also good. New rts's concentrate on graphic to the complete detriment of gameplayHalo wars, warhammer 40k: dawn of war 2, or empire: total war?
Halo Wars was really bad in my opinion, just Microsoft milking the Halo series for anything out of it. Get Empire: total war, the Total War series is very cool.
