What are the ups and downs of not getting the first two in the Warhammer 40,00 dawn of war series?

I got dark crusade and not sure if i should get the 1st two.What are the ups and downs of not getting the first two in the Warhammer 40,00 dawn of war series?
Pros:

The original DoW has a really interesting campaign story.

Winter Assault provides minor insights into the Dc back-story.

The games come together now, more economical.

Getting the original allows the first 5 races for you in multiplayer.

Getting Winter Assault allows the Imperial Guard in multiplayer.

Playing the old games allows you to appreciate the new units. :)



Cons:

Other than being down 20 - 30 bucks, not much.
